The apparatus consists of a cylindrical tank (height 18
cm, diameter 10 cm) closed at top and bottom by a spherical lid and a
copper serpentine (tube diameter 7 mm), 55 cm long in three spires.
Connection between the tank and the serpentine is by means of a small
copper cylinder soldered to the upper end of the tank. At the top this
cylinder has an aperture for the introduction of liquid into the tank
and has, soldered to it on its side, the tube connecting it to the serpentine
(length 30 cm, diameter 2 cm).
A small tube on the side at the end of the serpentine allows elimination
of the uncondensed steam.
