Fittings for the Melloni apparatus
- eight brass supports, with indices;
- a small alcohol lamp;
- a platform for a light bulb with a brass stem. It also has a concave silver reflector the height of which is adjustable;
- a round brass platform (diameter 8 cm) which acts as a support for the sources and the different devices or means that act on the beams;
- a platform composed of a brass rod and a rectangular wooden base (12 x 5 cm);
- three rectangular, burnished brass screens (11.4 x 14.8 cm) of which two are double with a jointed rod and one simple one with a jointed arm, which makes it possible to intercept or let through the heat rays by lowering or raising the screen;
- two round diaphragm holders to limit the dimensions of the beams;
- an auxiliary brass rule (length 40 cm), not graduated, which can be jointed to the other and a round platform with a graduated scale, it too brass, both for use in studying reflection, refraction and scattering of heat radiation;...continues
