This is the great Foucault Pendulum of the Museum of Physics beautifully on show in the main hall of the Physics Dept. of University of Cagliari. Under the wind rose there is the electromagnet which keeps up the pendulum in oscillation. The direction of oscillations rotates clockwise about one of the reference marks every hour. ...continues
