The two arms lie on special bushings attached to the top of the buttresses, which have adjusting screws, by means of two smooth iron rods having a diameter of 2.5 cm.
The telescope, with two tubes, is 80.8 cm long when closed and 83.2 cm when open.
The first tube (length 78 cm, diameter 58.5 mm) has an objective (focal length 77.5 cm, diameter 57 mm) which is protected by a lens cap.
The second (length 16 cm, diameter 57 mm) holds the eyepiece and, for focusing, it can slide within the first up to 24 mm by means of a rack controlled by a knob on the side. The eyepiece (length 26 mm, diameter 19 mm) can slide up to 15 mm in the ring of the eyepiece holder and, since this is on a slide, it can also make slight shifts, normally to the optical axis. It is composed of two planoconvex lenses, the first of which (focal length 24 mm, diameter 15 mm) has the flat side facing the objective and the second (focal length 20 mm, diameter 6 mm) facing the observer.
The condition of what remains of the instrument is fair.
