A rack screw with an insulating knob allows the bottom electrode to be moved along the column for rough adjustment, while fine adjustments of the distance of the points can be made by regulating the upper electrode by means of a vertical screw with a very tight thread moved by an insulating knob at the top of the column.
The jointed fixing devices allow the electrodes to be arranged vertically and coaxially or at a certain angle.
