The magnet is contained in a copper case (6.7 x 5.6 cm, height 6.5 cm) decorated with grooves that are round on the faces and straight at the edges; it is equipped with a hook for hanging on a wooden staff (height 33 cm) supported by a rectangular platform (30 x 12.5 cm, height 33 cm), it too wooden, both well lathed.
The polar expansions (1.9 x 0.9 cm section) extend beyond the case by 1.2 cm.
The staff lacks the original hook for hanging the magnet.
